I was meeting a friend for lunch this afternoon. We wandered for a while, and bumped into Sale & Pepe. There were some seats free and the lunch suggestion that we saw outside convinced us.
The place is simple, but stylish. We were welcomed in a friendly way and we chose a table close to the window (it looked a bit hot near the stove). As aperitif, we chose a prosecco that tasted fresh and yummy. There was a free appetizer with olives/salad/mozzarella. Very decent.
As suggested, we went for the lunch. The vegetarian version was ordered without any problems, very customer friendly. They often ask a supplement for this, but this wasn’t the case here, which was very nice. Starter was a salad with ricotta, great ingredients, good quality – tasty and light. The main course was a parallelle with soup meat and vegetables. The vegetarian version had a tomato sauce and vegetables. Super tasty and generous portions.
Price/quality ratio is very good for this lunch (17,50 euro). For the two of us, I only payed 50,70 euro (2 prosecco, 1/2l water and 2 lunches. There’s a trend to make lunches more extensive and expensive in restaurants, but here you still got the benefits of a good lunch place: profitable, sufficient, good price/quality and smooth/friendly service. I would love to come back on an evening, because the menu looks appealing.
